Away Media work
Away Media is the name of the limited company under which we trade. We employ a variety of people on a limited contract basis, as and when a project demands it. Away Media was founded in August 2007, and specialises in production and consultancy in Flash, and in particular, Flash using Away3d.

Scorpion Island

description: Produced as an accompanying website to the popular children’s BBC show Escape from Scorpion Island, this website uses an initial 3D interface accompanied by a video narrative to navigate a series of minigames built from the same themes used in the TV series. Away Media assisted the CBBC in all areas of interface development. description: Created as an online sculpture tool, the project was a collaboration between Away Media and Cocomino for the manufacturer Qualcomm to promote their latest line of smartbook technology. My Almost Famous Family

description: An interactive content portal created to accompany the kids TV show My Almost Famous Family broadcast on CBBC. The site contains its own narrative that cleverly places the viewer inside the story, with a series of minigames and live video sequences used to move the story forward. Away Media was contracted to build the shell of the site, managing the 3D map navigation as well as all server communication, asset loading, video playback and control interfaces. The Tomorrow Mural

description: An online collaborative art project commissioned by Intel, The Tomorrow Mural minisite invites visitors to upload an image or piece of text summarising their vision of the future. With the inital concept coming from MRM Worldwide, Away Media were contracted to develop the entire front end interface, including the 3D approach to the presentation of submissions. description: Created as an online game to promote the Doritos ‘guess the flavour’ prize draw, ID3 was another collaboration between Rehab Studio and Away Media, this time for AMV BBDO London. The site intercuts cinematic sequences with interactive elements that allow you to choose which path to take through the game. Away Media were involved in the production of two 3d minigames contributing to the immersive feel of the site. description: Produced to promote the features of the new Toyota Verso, this minisite was built as a collaborative effort between Rehab Studio and Away Media for Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels. It comprises a series of minigames, held together by an interactive video navigation. Away Media was responsible for the development of the 4 minigames contained in the site, some of which use the Away3d engine for their graphics and interaction. Away Media was responsible for production and delivery of all 3d assets, and Awaybuilder was used as an integration method between design and development. BBC F1 Circuit Guides

description: As part of the re-launch of Formula 1 on the BBC, the circuit guides application allows in depth navigation of each of the 17 tracks on the 2009 F1 calendar. The project was a joint commission between Away Media and Monterosa Productions. Away3d is used extensively for displaying track graphics in 3d, giving a bird-eye view of each circuit and a fly-through mode for more detail on each corner of the track. ITManager 3: Unseen Forces

description: The IT manager series upgrade for 2009, ITManager3 leads on from previous successes from MRM Worldwide. Away Media acted as 3d and game framework consultants, and as a result the game was build using Away3d as the main graphical layer. Players have to steer their business to success by running an efficient and effective office – this is achived through your abilities as an IT manager. As things progress in a level, efforts are rewarded with medals and special powers, until you achive sufficient success to move to a bigger and better office.
